My name is Thao Mäkelä, and I am a licensed podiatrist with formal training in Finland and a protected healthcare professional title grant by Valvira.My clinical background includes over seven years as a practical nurse, with a focus on geriatric and chronic care—experience that informs my safety-oriented and holistic approach to lower limb health.
My core competencies include preventive podiatry, diabetic foot care, and and musculoskeletal assessment for aging populations. I provide individualized treatment with clinical precision, ethical integrity, and cultural sensitivity.
I have completed clinical placements across both public and private sectors, including Metropolia’s Hymykylä Podiatry, Suursuo Hospital, Meilahti Tower Hospital’s (Endocrinology clinic), and Pihlajalinna Pikku Huopalahti Hospital—gaining experience in complex and multidisciplinary care environments.
Currently, I practice at the EJT Wellness Center in Viherlaakso, Espoo. I welcome clients seeking evidence-based, personalized foot care.
